Zach Cooner, a decorated K-9 unit officer in Alverton City's police department, had always respected the law. That is, until the day his unit was ambushed by a radical Feranthrope group, The Forsaken. In the chaos Zach transformed for the first time and was framed for the attack, which landed him in "The Zoo", a hell-ish max security prison for Feranthropes.
His girlfriend, Aiko Aikawa, a brilliant investigative journalist, spent seven long years in a relentless legal battle to prove his innocence. Finally exonerated, Zach found himself grappling with a harsh reality - prison's trauma left him bitter, and adapting to life as a Feranthrope in a society that ostracized him proved a constant struggle. To survive in a world that saw him as a monster, Zach resorted to a life of crime. Meanwhile, Aiko, unwavering in her belief, continued to investigate the truth behind "The Ambush."
